Southeast Asia - Health Programs

AFAP's health work focuses on the effects of prevalent diseases - including HIV/AIDS, malaria and dengue fever - and includes awareness about prevention and treatment.

This work provides care for the terminally ill and support for the bereaved and orphaned. AFAP has also implemented innovative programs to address the stigma associated with being HIV positive.

Access to clean water and sanitation facilities leads to improved community health. Within its water and sanitation program, AFAP is working with its partners to increase access to clean drinking water by building or repairing wells and installing toilets and other sanitation facilities. AFAP is also creating general awareness about the importance of hygiene and waste management.
