Identifying the need for medical equipment and supplies in developing countries, a group of doctors working for AFAP began collecting donations from Australian hospitals and the public to reinvest into the health systems of developing countries. From here, the Medical Supplies and Services (MSS) was born.

Since its inception, the program has expanded to include the procurement and shipment of much needed educational supplies to as well.

Containers/shipments have been sent to the following countries:

Viet Nam

The shipment was sent to Tien Lang District Health Centre, a hospital that had an acute shortage of medical equipment.

The Centre had previously been cut off due to poor infrastructure.

A recently build bridge made it possible for AFAP to send equipment from the port of Hai Phong to this district.

A handing over ceremony was held with key stakeholders and Viet Nam Country Director Uma Menon visited the health centre.
